NLP making a difference in the classroom

No matter what class you teach, you will certainly have a range of different students. There will be many different learning behaviours which you need to work with, whilst getting the best out of your students. Many reports emphasis the importance of developing teaching skills, especially in communication & interaction. NLP has been shown in classroom practice “to achieve this, particularly in relation to language and learning, rapport, interpersonal skills and flexibility” (source: Education Trust).

The Education Trust pulled together a series of first-hand case studies where Teachers (Nursery to Year 13) offer insights into how key NLP strategies, tools and practice that can be used in the classroom to create
impact on relationships, behaviour, learning and pupil achievement and teaching effectiveness. They reported the positive impact in the classroom, with individuals children and in their own feelings about their capacity to deal with classroom situations. NLP can therefore be a great skills set for all in the Education profession to have – both professionally and personally.

“… it has enabled me to extend my knowledge and understanding of leadership, including how to use language to positively influence and motivate people and contribute to their wellbeing. And finally, it has helped me in both my professional and personal life by introducing me to useful strategies to experiment with when faced with situations that I find challenging”
